Hope Floats

Wyatt has a goose-egg on his forehead, and on the back of his head, from two different falls today. he is cutting two teeth, and he was in a funk.
Boone is depressed. Curled up on the dirty clothes all day.
Mark is gone for a week. And it is quiet and a little lonely here. But hope floats...like my favorite movie - I know that tomorrow is another day that the Lord has made - and the sun will come up.

I just found out that our good friends are facing a terrible tragedy in their family - their daughter committed suicide today. It makes me sad and makes me wonder why she couldn't see and feel the hope...

And now I just pray for this family and hope that they feel HIS presence around them. I am so blessed, but I have felt the lows and funks...but I always know that I am never alone. And eventually hope floats.

I have no idea why this happened. But I feel the pain and heartbreak of this family losing their daughter. And I hug my funky little man a little tighter. May Wyatt always know that regardless of choices and decisions - that I love him. And so does his Heavenly father. And that sometimes you just have to give hope a chance to float up.

Hope floats.

Six months of Love

Dear Wyatt,I wonder what could be greater than hope? Hope can help people survive. Hope can win elections. Hope can change our attitude. Hope is our greatest prayer.

I wonder what can be greater than faith? Believing in a saving father. Believing that the God of our Universe is here with us, struggling with us, laughing with us. Believing that faith is our guide, our path.

It's love. Hard to believe, but LOVE (according to our inspiring word of our savior) is greater than either Hope or Faith. Maybe it is because love provides the path for both Hope and Faith. It is Love. Amazing, unfailing, inspiring LOVE.

Sweet boy, in your six months of life, you have been LOVED, LOVED, LOVED and LOVED. You have been loved through your learning, fusiness, messiness, happiness and sickness. You have been Loved by so many people. You are so blessed that SO many people have chosen to LOVE you. I pray that you will always know their love, that you will always know the importance of friends and family, that you never, ever question how LOVED you are. Look at who all has LOVED you in your first few months!

Grandma and Grandpa Coonrad

The Even Girls and Aunt Carol (your pseudo Grandma)...

Aunt Charla and Uncle Todd

Cousin Shane and Aunt Barb McIntosh

Uncle Tex and Aunt Gert and Uncle Rod McIntosh

Uncle Darren and cousins, Dillon, Justin, Lauren

Grandma Enns and Uncle Dave

Aunt Julie (who you should know calls at least once a week to check up on what is new with you)and even BOONE!

Lindsey (when you were just 1 week old) and Tawnya.

Your pseudo Aunt Kelly Sue (with your new boots)
and so many countless others who want you to know you are loved. Aren't you lucky?
Aren't you just so blessed?

And one more...

and the limitless love of your daddy! So like the love of our heavenly father. Unending, limitless, unbelievable love!
Wyatt, I get this verse for the first time...
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE." 1 Cor 13:13. You are loved! May you always know Love; and I pray you will seek the love of God in your daily walk. Bless you sweet, LOVED baby!
Grow big,
Your mom

KayDee

This is KayDee. This picture makes me smile. It is what I think of when I am with KayDee. It is always a hula-hooping good time. Now, KayDee and I have had a lot of adventures in our lifetime friendship...let's see...beer tents, girls trips, antiques, weddings, nursing tents, New Mexico, boys (not worth mentioning) other boys (worth marrying), crashing millenium parties, wine, more wine, spa days, fondue, prayer, concerts (a lot), goals, cook-offs, Rose Bowls, movies, tattoos, more wine, turing older, getting better, reading a good book, cooking a good meal. We are bound by a generational friendship. KayDee and I can have fun doing NOTHING at all. I always like being with KayDee. She makes me smile.

But she is a friend of a lifetime. Why? Because she is my prayer warrior. A few weeks ago I was ina bad spot. It is KayDee who I called (as I often do)...I said "KayDee, I don't know what to do." and KayDee says "We can pray." I vividly remember, just moments before my wedding, KayDee prayed with me. I know that it is KayDee who lifts up my hurts, my fears, my life to the Lord. She is salt of the earth. She is a friend. She knows the savior. And she is such a blessing to me.

I don't know what I did to deserve this woman that I so admire that I get to call my friend. But I am so very thankful for her wisdom. Everyone should have a friend like KayDee. I am thankful , so very thankful for you dear one! May you always know how much I treasure our friendship.

Mini Me

It always cracks me up when people first look at Wyatt and ask me "who do you think he looks like?"

I just want to show them this picture. Mark's Mini Me.

I love it. I love my boys.
